The process of product creation is one thing but the process of creativity is quite another. To bring something forth from the ethers requires a dialog with one’s subconscious mind. The ideas—thought-forms—of useful products are actually already ‘out there’, as suggested by the phrase “there is nothing new under the sun.” So how exactly does one connect with one of those ideas and bring it into material manifestation? There are many methods but the common thread between them all is that of intuition. It is that intuitive sense that clues us in to something wonderful waiting to be birthed.
The mind of one labeled as a genius is a mind that is more open to the subconscious realm; perhaps that is why there is such a fine line between genius and insanity. Since the subconscious realm is the arena of dreams and other-worldly connections, it doesn’t necessarily make any sense to the rational mind. You have to wonder what is really going on though, when that part of the mind is considered to be the vast majority—the body of the iceberg—of our minds. It is the repository not only of intuition, genius and connection, but also of all of the Fears of our lives and all of the ancestors whose DNA we embody.
For those of us in the world of metaphysics, swimming through that dark and mysterious world that lies beneath consciousness is no big deal; we do it all the time. We revel in the heightened connection with Source and in the magic and mystery it brings into our lives. We learn how to use it to advance our Souls’ experiences…and become more enlightened. Then there’s the fun part of it all: the creative spin that delights the mind AND the senses. The method of reaching that state of receptivity doesn’t matter as much as the end result—the connection with Source (God).
For meditators, that connection comes through disciplined thought and learning to still the mind…to Enter the Silence…for religious practitioners it comes through prayer…for geniuses it comes through thinking. To use the creativity inherent in all humans, find the method that works best for you. For me, it started through creating art, prayer, and thinking, and then segued into meditating and dreaming. When I first get an idea about something interesting, the thought floats in across my consciousness. I pluck it out of the air and play with it a bit and ask questions about it of the Universe. More thinking ensues and then dreaming jumps into the act as my subconscious works to assist me. When all of the pieces are in place, TA DAAAAH!—the completed idea pops out into my conscious mind, neatly wrapped up. If the idea is not complete I use a three-pronged approach: meditation, prayer/afformations and dream induction. In other words, I ask for further assistance in bringing that creation into this material dimension.
When the idea is complete and ready to be produced, there is a feeling of delight that emanates from the Soul in child-like wonder. The heart does a little flip of Joy and Gratitude as everything clicks into place perfectly. It reminds me of the process of creating an art piece: the moment of finishing is followed by a moment of appreciation and a feeling of wondrous accomplishment…and then the thoughts of how to make the next piece even better! The creative process is so much fun it is difficult to ever be bored. Humanity is made to be creative, intuitive and connected; anything that brings those qualities out results in Joy. There is also a gift that comes with utilizing those hidden virtues—one becomes more aware of the ‘moment of Perfection’…that moment when the entire Creation pauses for an instant and the Angels sing. Who wouldn’t want to experience that as much as possible?
